Week 13: The last week of the first trimester
I went to Gap maternity and bought some prego pants for work and play. That was the best thing I could have done. They are so comfortable. No buttons jabbing into your stomach. Plus Gap is affordable, I just couldn't stomach paying $160.00 for designer pregnancy jeans at one of those fancy boutiques. Plus GAP carries tall so I don't have to look pregnant and like I am waiting for a flood.
Not much else is going on in the hustle and bustle of life. Gas prices are on the rise in case you didn't notice! We have a busy weekend ahead with Birthdays and father's day celebrations. I will blog about this next week. Hope all my friends and family who read this are well. Toodles!

week 12 ultrasound
We had our 12 week ultrasound yesterday, all is well with Baby G. Matt went with me. He had been with me at 6 weeks when they did one in the ER (I had some bleeding) but you could not see any detail at that time. At my week 8 Matt had work commitments so my mom went with me but this time he was able to go and thought it was amazing. The pictures did not turn out as well as the images we could see on the screen.
Our baby is an active one, jumping everywhere. The doctor said that is great and that Baby G is building muscle. This appointment was for Down Syndrome and Spinal Bifida screening. They do blood work and measure a skin flap on the back of baby's neck, through ultra-sound imaging. The doctor said everything looked great. We have a second screening at 16 weeks. These screenings are optional and I decided to do them because there are a lot of other things they can tell about your pregnancy through the ultrasounds and blood work, like how your labor will go if there are any concerns. PLUS any chance I get to see the little one I will jump at.
In this picture its hands are near its face, baby is measuring at 3-inches from head to toe. The heartbeat was good, 154 bpm. She could get quite a bit detail of the babies face and I swore I could see Matt's ears and my brother's nose. I know a lot will change but it was really cool.
I lost 5 lbs since my last weigh in but the doctor is not worried at all (that is what happens when you can't keep much down). So our next appointment is July 1st (16 week) and the appointment after that we will be able to tell the gender. Despite the not feeling well this is such an amazing experience and I am so excited to be a Mom!

week 11; Graduation and memorial day
The BBQ on Saturday was a lot of fun. We caught up with family and friends and watched all the young high school graduates. College really was some of the best years and I felt such an excitement for them as they embark on this really fun time in there lives.
Matt and Angela
To wrap up week 11 we had dinner with our friends Kathryn, Trisha, and Traci and their husbands. Traci and Jason (her husband) were in town from Washington and it was great to see her (MOVE HOME TRACI)! We all met at Kathryn and Chris's house and walked down to a fun district called Highlands for dinner. On our walk back after dinner, all of us girls were trailing behind the guys catching up on life when a group of girls in a jeep pulled up to the guys. They asked if we were their girlfriends to which Trisha's husband Ryan stated "No, their our wives!" The girls said "to bad" and speed off. Hilarious and what a compliment to us. The guys were walking with their chest pumped after that....I guess they still got it.
On the pregnancy front week 11 was okay. I am still getting a lot of headaches and am nauseous a lot, but hopefully this too will pass. I had my first dream about baby and I visited my own womb (pregnancy makes you have weird dreams) but it was really cool. I am so excited to meet Baby "G" when the time comes. I feel like I think about baby all the time, what will it be like? Who will it look like? How will we handle being parents? I need to just roll with the punches a little more because this is one of those things you can not imagine. My mom said she did a lot of the same things and that nothing she could have imagined would have come close to how great Cade and I were, thanks Mom!

9th week, Anniversaries, Birthdays, and
We watched "PS I love you" on Saturday evening and I cried the entire movie. I would have cried a bit prior to baby but the tears were just flowing for the entire two hours and I used an entire box of Kleenex. Matt is wondering where his wife is and I told him I am still here but in an emotional and pregnant body:)
On other news we celebrate some big events this weekend. First off my parents 35th wedding anniversary was on Saturday and we went to dinner with them at the Chart House. The restaurant knew we were celebrating this event and even printed special menus that said "Happy 35th anniversary, Armsteads." It was really nice to spend time with them because they are so fun. What a blessing in our lives. My dad wrote my mom a really sappy letter that of course made me cry when I read it:) Congrats Mom and Dad here's to many more wonderful years.
Sunday was of course mothers day and Matt and I feel so blessed to have the mothers we do and to know all the wonderful mothers in our lives. So happy mothers day to you hot mamas out there. Sunday was also Angela's 18th birthday. We celebrated at the Gilbreath's Home with barb-que and cake and reflected on how we all can not believe Ang. is 18. It was a wonderfully relaxing day.

A positive change
Yes it is true, we are going to have a baby! I have told my boss so I figure I can post this on our blog. We found out a few weeks ago and though we were not "planning" this little addition for a few years we are really excited. I am 8 weeks and 3 days and have a due date of December 13th. Please think good thoughts that our baby arrives before Santa brings the gifts:)
I had my first real ultra sound today and all looks well. Its heartbeat was normal, 176 bpm. You really can not imagine or understand what your mom went through until you are walking in the pregnant lady shoes. It is such a miracle. Seeing that lil' peanut definitely made my heart race with joy.
Unfortunately, the past week has consisted of a lot of praying to the porcelain gods. I have not been able to keep much down but I know it will get better. I am staying active (walking my 3-4 miles a day) and still working full time. I plan to stay at work until December if baby allows me to do so and than take 3 months off. I like to plan further than that but this is one of those things you just have to jump on for the ride:)
So as many of our friends have done I will post photos of me and the "bump" as well as updates on little baby "G".
Love to all

Lots of little moments...
We had dinner with some great friends at a trendy mexican place called Tamayo a few weeks ago. We met after work for some cocktails and dinner and enjoyed the wonderful company of our dearest friends. Trisha and Kathryn are two of my closest girlfriends (met in college) and both were in my wedding. They are the type of girls you just know will be your life long friends and everytime you get to see them you leave with a smile. Luckily they married great gents that are charming, smart and funny. So when we all get together it is a nice time:)
The same weekend that I went to Texas was Angela's senior prom. I was so glad Matt was able to go up and see her and be part of the photos. She looked so beautitful as did all of her friends and their dates. She had a wonderful time. They did this event in style. All 14 of them loaded up in an escalade limo and headed to the Chop house for dinner and than to Invesco Field (where the broncos play). Most of the group went as friends so there was not first date or couple drama. What fun memories!
Well I am going to be better about posting and will make May a little more informative.
