April...thats a wrap!

Lets see folks...April was a busy month for us. One of us (not me) took the Professional Engineering (PE) Exam on April 16th. After 8 long hours of working engineering problems my handsome hubby left feeling good about his test...the bad part is he doesn't find out his results for 100 days. At least the studying is done and we will continue to pray that he passed.

Look at all those books...he didn't even take as many as some of the other test takers. Man do I love smart guys:) He logged 100+ hours preparing for the test. We will be sure to let you know when he passes!
Moving right along...we had a nice Sunday lunch with the Grandfolks. I got a great video of Mason giving his GG Bert a kiss but for some reason blogger has decided to change its format and it won't upload our video...grrrr!
We also enjoyed time with friends. Believe it or not there were other people here besides Sawyer (sorry Chris and Kathryn). Its just that I love this little guy and my camera was drawn to him as well. Trisha you look gorgeous as usual.
Were big on kissing....what can you say! Ryan you are such a good dad, always knew you would be!
Mason is just to cute...he points at EVERYTHING but he is also talking a lot. Not sure everyone can understand him but his mommy can. He will say " Lan car boon b" and I say oh you "love the car and the spoon and bird."
He is still up to his crazy antics..lots of climbing our stools!
And why are you in my kitchen sink steeling blueberries? And what is that blunt object in your hand? This boy is one crazy monkey. Oh and did I mention the tantrums....they have been a real joy as well. Still I wouldn't change it for ANYTHING!

Saluting Spring-->Warning: Too many espressos when I wrote this!

Life has been full lately.... the energy of spring, the celebration of Easter, and the time spent with those we love has been filling our days and our hearts. Life is good.

Hello my handsome son, when did you turn into a little boy? Can I slow down the clock just a bit? I am trying to savor every moment of him...this age is so fun, temper tantrums and all. Not trying to fool anyone that I am always this optimistic about being a mom, some days I count the minutes until Matt will be home and Mama can have a glass of wine:)

Is this safe? I think for the most part but sometimes Hunter likes to keep Mason on his toes and will buck him off...hey what do you expect from a 100-lb lab?

We are looking for a saddle and reins but when I asked the pet store lady I think she wanted to report me to PETA. We are just trying to train Mason to do some Mutt'n Bust'n! Plus our yard won't be adequate for a real pony.

It does warm our hearts that our son loves animals as much as we do! It also warms my heart that Hunter allows Mason to do this. Hunter is one spastic dog, I think brown labs are missing some crucial brain cells but he is a BIG part of our family and we wouldn't trade him for anything...or would we. Again depends on the day!

Play dates with your closest friend including an afternoon glass of wine, rank super high on my favorite things to do.

This is Sawyer Phillips, one of my dearest friends son. He is SO CUTE and such a happy guy!

I have decided to gift my friends with babies, with a "full house toddler preparation kit"...the kit consists of Mason. He will come to your house and we will let him loose, allowing him to show the parents of new baby all the things they will need to kid proof. I guarantee if Mason can get to it, in it, on it, or break it...he will find it. Man I am a good friend:)

"Hey Sawyer someday soon we will get to play together, maybe even some baseball like our dads did in college. I think our dads did a lot of cool things in college but they won't tell us about that until we are 18."

My beautiful friend Trisha with her baby boy...muah...love you both!

Easter weekend we headed to the casa in the mountains (I took 3 years of Spanish in college and I can't remember more than casa...hmmm)

Mason got to bring his firetruck and we pulled out Uncle Cade's sesame street truck. Were kids a lot smaller in the 80's? Anyways minutes of entertainment playing bumper cars on Grandma and Papa's deck. Did I mention it was like 20 degrees outside?

Inside the warm house I broke into Mason's Easter basket and stole these bunny ears and a few chocolate candies (he hasn't had candy yet...dentists are expensive)

A huge chocolate rabbit! Hallow head and all.

A huge Papa rabbit, he hadn't even had an evening toddie yet...he is just strange and the best Papa ever!

Matt wouldn't wear the ears so instead I made him pose for some pictures..he loves when I take his picture! HA...he has learned to just smile and get it over with because he knows I will not stop until he does.

Micah: "Babe your looking a little tired, all that studying for the PE must be wearing on you. Can I get you a drink, rub your feet...maybe a snack? "

Matt: "That would be great...all of those things."

Micah:"Great! you married the wrong woman."

Easter was different this year, we missed Cade, Emily, Keegan and Cormic:(

Heart full! Blessings galore having these three in our lives!

Matt and I really dressed up for the occasion. I pack a nice shirt for Mason but apparently forgot to think of myself...at least I match Matt.

Don't worry Uncle Cade I ate your share of cheese potatoes....darn these are good!

Baseball is kind of huge in our house, hence the new back ground! Because we can't go to baseball games quite yet with Mason we decided to dress in the Rockies garb instead. Opening day in CO was this past Friday and the weather was spectacular.

We worked on Mason's pitching skills while cleaning up "dog bombs" in the backyard. I use the word "we" loosely. I mostly sat on the steps getting some sun pointing out dog bombs to Matt. I am the self appointed project manager of the house.

Nice form son...I think your dad would rather you use your left hand!

Man you people tire me out....

The Rockies won 7-0.

There is something unique about listening to a baseball game on the radio (We don't have cable anymore but that is another blog post) and enjoying a spring afternoon with your family, that makes you thankful you get to be on this path!

A random assortment of memories

I think this photo speaks for itself

We stripped his clothing immediately following dinner and carried him to the bath. Thank goodness for the wood floors we would have some very stained carpet otherwise.
.
Tuesday Mason, me and the dogs hit the outdoors all morning before this happened later that day.....

We got about 14-inches...after Matt dug us out the next morning we headed to GG Bert and GG Larry's to help them shovel out and spend some time. March is one of our snowiest months.

Mason could get away with just about anything in their house and he knows it.

On Friday we had a play date with one of my dear friends from college and her son Jack. Right before this photo Mason was hugging Jack, it was to cute. We have been really working on being gentle with people and animals...not hitting, head-butting or kicking just giving hugs and kisses. We are not always successful but it was this day, yeah Mason!

Mason ran the entire 2 hours we were at the Golden Community Center, I guess it tired Jack out. Just wait Ruthie, this is looming in your future. It was nice to catch up with an old friend, Ruthie has a heart of gold amd I wish she lived closer.

That daddy really has to figure this out...why Matt thinks these things are so funny is beyond me:)

Bless your little Irish heart...

March is a fickle month in Colorado but as of late we have enjoyed mild temperatures and a toddler who has begun a love affair with the outdoors.

Mason's Uncle Chris , Aunt T. and his three cousins handed down some outdoor toys during their recent move. We can not thank them enough for these great energy burners.

Looking sharp in his car! His hair looks like it is blowing in the wind but really he just has some crazy hair.

Quite the personality this little guy has.

He is counting to three and does so frequently before heading down the slide....next we will teach him complex fractions...just kidding.

The beginning of a multi-tasker....I am so proud!

We have started the repetition phase, some times we read those books (Hungry Caterpillar, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird) one hundred times a day. I don't even have to look at the pages anymore!

Matt does....

He is also becoming quite particular about putting his shoes on whenever he is awake. He is quite fond of his Nikes. I think he likes them because they make him just tall enough to climb on things he shouldn't be. We caught him on the kitchen counter the other night when we had turned our back for no less than 5-seconds.

We celebrated our Irish heritage with Angela, Jason, Nick and Angie by grilling out on our deck. We are so glad to have Nick and Ang. back on Colorado soil.
The lucky day brought.....

70-degree weather.

A really bright green shirt worn by Jason.

Our handsome Irish boy. I know my grandma June was smiling down on us, man do I miss her!

A beautiful sister/aunt who was double fisting:)

A dad mesmerized by his baby boy!

Some car-bombs with my roomies (once Mason was in bed)!

A young couple in love...

And Nick getting his butt kicked by his girlfriend Ang....man we love her.
Thanks for hanging out with us guys, I thought I had taken more pictures but I guess all the Irish drink made me forget.

A day in the life of Mason

Matt dressed Mason, a least he didn't take him in public. Hint Hint...the onesie goes under the pants.

Sledding on snowy Friday afternoon...our lil' marshmallow.

Self family portrait

Mason was tired after the long event so Matt pulled him all the way home from the park while he caught snowflakes on his tongue.

He was rested when we got home so he made some phone calls.

Did some abs with Aunt A's assistance.

Then they stretched.

Wow what a day....

Yes we change outfits that many times some days...it depends on the amount of food that makes it in his mouth.

Just a silly video of our 15 month old.....
