Months 8,9,10 - The Max show

Eleven months today!

Warp speed these past 11 months. I can remember Mason edging towards a year old and how big I thought he was. I have a different perspective now. I have a joy and sadness as we approach the toddler years. Life seems to be a little easier in some ways but a lot more work in others. Here is recap of the past few months.

I shouldn't say its more work just not idle time once they start moving. It's good to move; my ass is thanking me but my couch and DVR are missing me.

Month 8
At a little over 8 months Max started crawling
One day this baby crab emerged and began to see how big his little world is.  His signature crawl is one of the cutest darn things. People come over just to see our circus act go on all fours. Speeding around after his big brother.
In month 8 he also began the art of annoying his older sibling. Good times. Mason is so sweet to him still.

Squeals and giggles; the best sound in the world.

Exploration is the name of the game.

The "me too" kid is beginning to emerge.

and the world of "big kids"

is pretty darn cool.

Month Nine
Stats: 50th percentile for weight
75th for height and 95th for head. Kid has a noggin

In the past few months these two have developed a very special relationship. Well really it started from day one but now he is interacting better. Max is a "mamma's boy to the core" and there are few people he will give his snuggles too BUT he loves Grandma deeply. He sometimes even prefers her to me. I actually love that, using the bathroom alone is a real treat when you have kids. She has special relationships with all her boys, she is a special lady. Truth be, Grandma and Papa are a whole lot of love fest.

Month nine has brought more curiosity

starting to grasp big kids and how fun that can be

a deeper love for the outdoors (and of course Papa). Matt takes him out nightly for a little walk while I get ready for bed. Calms his little soul right down the minute they step out the door.

The water. He has always liked it but now its an hours worth of easy entertainment.
more "me too" and cute baby buns

His curiosity often leads to

innocent mischief and BIG messes.

Some days I feel like all I do is clean, pick up, carry, and feed babies/kids...and that is why they call us Moms.

Month 10
has been a blast and exhausting

we have had a lot of visitors and he loves the constant go go go. These are his twin cousins Danielle and Gianni visiting from Texas.

Cousin Hillary and her daughter Madeline (Uncle Larry came too) at the Denver Aquarium visiting from Texas.

The fearsome foursome (stole that from my husband).

getting into everything seems to be the norm at this age

an occasional breather but not for too long

Mom finally went out for a girls night (Kenny concert with Aunt Ang.) and Dad and Max partied at home. Mom paid the next day for her night of adult freedom.

Learning stairs; up is easy and in the last week he has figure out how to turn around and go down!

Not the best pic of Max but needed proof I was around.

Morning lookouts. We are still co-sleeping. He is a good sleeper for the most part.

Words and Animal interaction. He loves his dogs.
You lick me

I lick you...he is trying to say Dog.

Current words include: Dada, Mom, Brotda (or something like that for Mason), more (kid loves to eat), Hey or Hi. Waving when we say Bye Bye.

someday big guy someday.

Have to jump on an opportunity like your brother's Capri Sun being left out.
Loves books and music. Likes to dance whenever he hears music.

We have been spending lots of time with GG. She refuses to use a walker because that "is for old people" so I got her this grocery cart a few years ago. The boys have a blast stealing it from her.

sharing is caring

10 months and the start of some new behaviors, like hitting and getting mad when we take something away. Luckily at this age their attention span is so short you can diffuse the situation quickly. The hitting is not in malice. I remember this with Mason and the stage lasted a while.
GG lets you beat the heck out of her, that is not ok. No No Max.

The art of feeding yourself. He is eating most foods except the obvious like shell fish, chocolate, and peanut butter. I am not a "by the book mom" more of a trust my gut mom; so he has had eggs, strawberries,  melons and even a nibble of ice cream and birthday cake here and there. I am still fully nursing and it is wonderful. People often ask me when I am going to quit. When he is ready is my answer but hoping to make it to age 2. Yup I am that lady.
Aunt Ang snapped this classic. Matt's birthday, Father like son having a love for rainbow sprinkle cake.

See why I am always cleaning

and the infamous sibling bathtub pic. Bathing is a lot quicker when you can throw em' both in the tub scrub-a-dub-dub.

Ready to enjoy this last month of babyhood...tear tear. Momma sure does love her baby boys.

I can't believe he's already 11 months old! He is such a cutie. I loved looking at this post - I know what I have to look forward to in the next few months :)

And I hear you about the pictures of Max and you. It seems like I'm always taking the pictures and never in the pictures.

Can't believe the big one year birthday is so quickly approaching. They are both just too stinkin' adorable.
And I totally feel ya, the role of mom is a non stop thing. But gosh is it the best job in the world. So hard to explain to people who don't have kids yet. It's a feeling that you can't describe, that you can only experience. So thankful we get to experience it, and together... because it makes you feel so good to talk to someone who relates to your situation.
Give those sweet boys a kiss from us!!!! Love you guys!

US (Kels, cause its gonna post from c3p and I don't want to log out and re-write this =)
