week 15

I am feeling great which is SO awesome. I have more energy, finally! We are getting more excited by the day. We day dream a lot about what kind of a person you are going to be. If you will be shy like your dad or outgoing like your mom? Or a mixture? One thing we do know is that you are going to be the greatest gift we could ever ask for. My belly is starting to look pregnant. Our next doctor's appointment is a week away and maybe they will tell us if you are a boy or girl and we will get to listen to your heartbeat again (what a sound). Technology is amazing!

I never thought I could love Matt more than the day I married him but I do. Relationships always evolve and ours has again. I know he is so excited to be a dad and that he is going to be a great one and that makes me love him even more. We enjoy being together and no matter what we are doing we find time to laugh (a lot) and not take life to seriously.

This past week we had the privilege of being with family. Cade, Emily and Keegan joined us for dinner on Thursday at our house. Keegan is the best! He is really turning into a smart, fun and of course handsome kid. On Friday evening Angela came down to hang out with us and we babysat Keegan. We fed him Pizza and chocolate malt (I know Cade and Em will pay me back someday). We went to the Park, watered the flowers (and Aunt Micah) ran around the house, watched Cars , ran around some more, and than finished watching cars. He cuddled in with Matt and I until Emily and Cade got there. He is a cuddle bug!

I was so tired the next day. It was great preparation for Matt and I. I know babies are different than toddlers but I think the common theme of being tired is still there. Kai? Tracy?

The 80's called they want their shorts back......

Two of our dearest friends, Kathryn and Chris, had a 1980's theme party on Saturday for Kathryn's birthday. We had a blast....here are some of the pictures.

We went for the workout theme....

Ryan and Trisha or Madonna and Marty McFly from Back to the future.

Matt's shorts are kind of short:)

These sweatbands hurt your head!

Walk like an Egyptian.....

The rest of the weekend was nice also. We celebrated Father's day with Matt's family on Friday and mine on Sunday. I forgot my camera Friday night but here are some pictures from Sunday at my parents house.

Uncle Matt teaching Keegan to ride his new bike...

We had to bribe him to get out of the swing after 20 minutes

This is what we bribed him with, washing Grandpa's Truck. He spent more time spraying Grandpa than the truck.

At the end of all our fun we sat down for a nice lunch outside. Mom fixed prime rib sandwhiches with macaroni and fruit salad and baked beans. It was delicious. Grandpa is sitting in Keegan's other chair, not the best fit. It was nice to spend time with our familes.

On the pregnancy front I am glad to report that I am feeling better. It seems I am moving along with this pregnancy just like the books discuss. Second trimester hits and I start to feel better. I would like to say it is all in my head but I would never intentionally want to feel like sick like I did. Hopefully this trimester is full on energy!

Week 13: The last week of the first trimester

This week has not been unusually different than the previous ones. A lot of throwing up and a migraine that kept me home from work yesterday. I do have to say I don't stay home very often and I have gone to work throwing up daily but a headache that brings you to a dark room with a heating pad made me call in. I know I am complaining and I hate to complain but this is my journal for my pregnancy and I want that baby to know what I went through:) Despite the physical pains we really are excited to have a baby. My tummy has started to show (I will get some pictures on here) but really I just feel fat.

I went to Gap maternity and bought some prego pants for work and play. That was the best thing I could have done. They are so comfortable. No buttons jabbing into your stomach. Plus Gap is affordable, I just couldn't stomach paying $160.00 for designer pregnancy jeans at one of those fancy boutiques. Plus GAP carries tall so I don't have to look pregnant and like I am waiting for a flood.

Not much else is going on in the hustle and bustle of life. Gas prices are on the rise in case you didn't notice! We have a busy weekend ahead with Birthdays and father's day celebrations. I will blog about this next week. Hope all my friends and family who read this are well. Toodles!

week 12 ultrasound

We had our 12 week ultrasound yesterday, all is well with Baby G. Matt went with me. He had been with me at 6 weeks when they did one in the ER (I had some bleeding) but you could not see any detail at that time. At my week 8 Matt had work commitments so my mom went with me but this time he was able to go and thought it was amazing. The pictures did not turn out as well as the images we could see on the screen.

Our baby is an active one, jumping everywhere. The doctor said that is great and that Baby G is building muscle. This appointment was for Down Syndrome and Spinal Bifida screening. They do blood work and measure a skin flap on the back of baby's neck, through ultra-sound imaging. The doctor said everything looked great. We have a second screening at 16 weeks. These screenings are optional and I decided to do them because there are a lot of other things they can tell about your pregnancy through the ultrasounds and blood work, like how your labor will go if there are any concerns. PLUS any chance I get to see the little one I will jump at.

In this picture its hands are near its face, baby is measuring at 3-inches from head to toe. The heartbeat was good, 154 bpm. She could get quite a bit detail of the babies face and I swore I could see Matt's ears and my brother's nose. I know a lot will change but it was really cool.

I lost 5 lbs since my last weigh in but the doctor is not worried at all (that is what happens when you can't keep much down). So our next appointment is July 1st (16 week) and the appointment after that we will be able to tell the gender. Despite the not feeling well this is such an amazing experience and I am so excited to be a Mom!
